tide.hong kong (installation with video)


It was one night in Oct 2014. Protestors took up the manhole covers along the Lung Wo Tunnel on Hong Kong Island to make barriers. Every single time the heavy manhole covers dropped they created echoes in the tunnel, which provoked my emotions.


It was one day in 2015. I was listening to the sound of breathing, modulated by the waves near the edge of a manhole cover in Kowloon Bay. I was looking at Victoria Harbour and that flourishing Island, combining my emotions over the last half year after the protest.
